Maya Skeleton Binding Plugin Manual

1. Install Maya plugin

1.1. Plugin download and installation conditions:

  1. Make sure the plugin is downloaded from:

  1. Make sure Maya is installed.

  2. Make sure the HandDriver is installed. Please refer to: Software Instruction

1.2. Installation Methods

Save the Udexreal_HandDriver_Rig_Charge.py script into the scripts folder under Maya's default path, which is usually: C:\Users\Documents\maya\20XX\zh_CN\scripts

Open Maya and click the script editor menu in the lower right corner to open the script editor

Click the Load Script button in the menu bar

Open the path where you just saved the script, select Udexreal_HandDriver_Rig_Charge.py and click "Open"

The script you just added will appear in the script editor after it loads

Click the Run Script button in the script editor, and the plugin UI will appear (Shortcut key:Ctrl+Enter)

If you want to add the plugin to the menu bar, press Ctrl+A to select all scripts, and then drag the script from the script editor to the menu with the middle mouse button. After that, the plugin can be loaded without opening the script editor.

2. Usage instructions

Open the plugin

Select the driven hand and wrist bones, right mouse button -- Select hierarchy, select all the bones that need to be driven, press "F" key in the outline view, you can see the names of all the driven bones

Drag the name of the driven skeleton in the outline view into the text input box of the plug-in one by one with the middle mouse button, or you can directly copy the name of the driven skeleton and enter it into the text input box

Click "Connect Left" and" Connect Right" at the bottom of the left and right hands respectively to connect. At this time, the corresponding constraint name can be observed under the skeleton name of the left outline view

If you need to cancel the binding of a single skeleton for adjustment, click the "DisConnect" button after the corresponding skeleton logo in the plug-in to cancel the constraint of a single skeleton. Click the "Disconnect Left" and "Disconnect Right "buttons to remove all current constraints

3. Precautions

  1. This plugin only supports skeletons exported by HandDriver as driver skeletons.

  2. This plug-in is only applicable to hand skeleton binding, if you need full body binding, you can use the Huaman IK plug-in that comes with Maya
